Planned outage notification from Beartooth Electric
Move of large house requires scheduled power outages Wednesday, May 23 through Friday, May 25 on power lines from Luther to Roberts.
Red Lodge, Montana (May 15, 2012) – Electric service to homes and businesses will be interrupted for several hours from Wednesday, May 23 through Friday, May 25 to ensure public safety as the county accommodates the move of a large house along roads between Luther and Roberts. Under a permit from the state of Montana, Tamietti House Moving & Construction, Inc. will haul the dwelling. On wheels, the house will reach 34 feet in height.
To comply with the state-authorized move, Beartooth Electric crews will turn off the power at about 9:00 a.m. Wednesday to customers near the house's current location at 151 Lower Luther Road. Crews then will begin temporarily disconnecting overhead power lines that cross the road along the transport route over the next few days. The scheduled three-day route begins at 151 Lower Luther Road to Hwy 78, to Willow Creek Road, to Taylor Hill Road, to West Bench Road, to Hwy 212, to the home’s final destination at the Henschel’s Six Buck Ranch, 107 Shorey Road. Safety is of utmost concern, there will be a pilot car, flaggers & signage prominently displayed during the move. If you are in the area during the move, please travel with caution.
Beartooth Electric customers along the route should expect to be without power for at least several hours. Daily outages are scheduled from approximately 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Beartooth Electric expects to switch the power off in stages as the two-story house moves down the road. Similarly, utility crews will begin re-hanging power lines and restoring service to customers after the house is moved.
Properties directly along the transport route, as well as some along adjacent side roads will be affected by the planned power outage. Beartooth Electric will deliver phone notifications of the planned outage to affected customers prior to the move date.
Please note that the move dates and times may change. Beartooth electric will provide information as quickly as known. If you have any questions, please contact Kaaren Robbins, Beartooth Electric Cooperative at 406-446-2310.
