BEC Cost of Service/Rate Design Seminar Scheduled for Tuesday, October 9.
BEC member-owners, you are invited to join your board, committees, and staff for a Cost of Service/Rate Design seminar presented by Gary Saleba, President and Gail Tabone, Senior Associate of EES Consulting. EES Consulting is a registered professional engineering corporation with offices in the metropolitan areas of Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon.
The Seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Red Lodge Pizza Co. Natalie’s banquet room.
Electric cooperatives like BEC, and the electric utility industry in general, are facing potentially fundamental changes as a result of rapidly evolving technologies and policy initiatives. Whether spurred by changing kilowatt-hour consumption, member-owner interest in solar or other distributed generation, growth in distributed energy resources, or state policy changes, these developments can have a significant impact on how cooperatives do business.
Taken together, the significant financial and strategic implications of these new realities are compelling many cooperatives to revisit traditional ratemaking models. Join us as EES Consulting presents:
Overview of Rate Setting
Cost of Service
Developing Load Data
Trends in Rate Design
Summary and Policy Directives
BEC general manager, Kevin Owens added, “Taking Charge of Change, our theme for this year’s annual meeting is more than a catchy phrase, it’s how we do business. This Cost of Service/Rate Design Seminar will provide tools and strategies for BEC to ensure that rates allow BEC to recover costs while maintaining equity and fairness within each of the rate classes.”
Interested member-owners are encouraged to attend this informative seminar. For more information, call the BEC office at 406-446-2310.
