Protecting Your Credit/Debit Card
The Data Security Standard of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) has forced the co-op to change payment procedures. We are no longer allowed to accept your credit card information over the phone and store it into our computer system for future automatic bill payments. We can, however, take your information for one-time payments. Once entered in our card reader, your information will be immediately encrypted for processing but not stored in our system.
In the future when you call, we will direct you to an online location to set up your own automatic authorization for future payments. This serves to protect your identity and your card data.
Businesses that don’t comply with PCI standards face significant fines from the companies whose cards they accept (Beartooth Electric accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover). We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, but want you to know that we take the protection of member information very seriously. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at 406-446-2310.
