We Hear You - 2016 Annual Survey Results
Thank you to each of our members who took the time to give feedback. The Annual Member Survey closed November 1 and we had over 500 respondents!
This year’s survey posed a question for members about remaining an independent cooperative or merging with another cooperative. The majority answered that they are currently “undecided” (43 percent). Almost 35 percent of respondents favored a stand-alone BEC and 22 percent are in favor of a merger. As a corollary, when asked about confidence in the current Board of Trustees, 85 percent have some level of confidence or better.
How satisfied are you in general with your cooperative? On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being “very satisfied”), 63 percent of respondents rated BEC with an 8 or higher. In 2012 this number was 52 percent and last year it was 57 percent. All three other performance ratings (expectations, ideal utility, and retention) also marked improvements.

The survey of Beartooth Electric Cooperative members was conducted by a mailing included in their board of trustees election packet in early September 2016. A total of 548 surveys were returned (by mail, in person or by online response). The number of complete responses for each question varied. Customer satisfaction questions are compared with the member survey conducted by a similar survey in 2015 and random member telephone interviews in July of 2012.
