BEC is Hiring: Temporary Work Order Clerk

Beartooth Electric Cooperative, Inc. seeks qualified candidates for the position of a Temporary Work Order Clerk.  This position is responsible for maintaining records and accounts relating to work orders and new service processes.  Additional responsibilities include performing monthly closings and general office support tasks. These responsibilities and tasks will be coordinated with and supervised by the Accountant.

2018 Budget Process

To ensure Beartooth Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BEC) is operated in accordance with good business practice and is fiscally sound, BEC Amended Bylaws (09/23/2017) Article IV Board Trustees, Section 1. General Powers, Item F. reads, The Board shall ensure that the Members are notified of the timeframe for review and approval of the annual budget.

“You count because you are the co-op—its owners and its customers,” said Beartooth Electric Board member Arleen Boyd at the BEC Annual Meeting in Absarokee on Saturday, Sept. 23. Approximately 250 attended the event held at Anipro Event Center. 

The board had a good year and they were happy to reassure any wary members still on high alert from the past troubled years. “The future is bright for Beartooth and its members,” announced General Manager Kevin Owens.

BEC Secures New Power Contract

BEC outage due to NWE lines

Beartooth Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BEC) has secured a new contract with Energy Keepers, the Salish-Kootenai Tribal corporation. 

General Manager Kevin Owens said, "This new contract provides price certainty and stability on our power supply purchases through September 30, 2027…ten years!”
